Greek farmers face eight‑month delay in 2025 CAP payments, says PASOK
PASOK – Movement for Change has criticised the Greek government's handling of the 2025 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) direct payments, stating that the payments were completed with an eight‑month delay. The party claims the delay leaves Greek farmers uncertain about the amounts they are entitled to, the source of the subsidies and the timetable for disbursement.
PASOK warns that systemic monitoring errors, administrative shortcomings and last‑minute checks have left thousands of producers unpaid or with reduced bank balances. The party also cautions that the postponed start of the OSDE subsidy declarations for 2026 could further compress the time needed for applications, inspections and final settlements, raising questions about the country's ability to ensure timely and lawful payments.
