Greek farmers face subsidy risks due to OSDE 2026 system failures
Greek Member of Parliament Manolis Chnaris has raised urgent concerns regarding the malfunctions of the new OSDE 2026 system, which threatens the timely submission of applications and the disbursement of agricultural subsidies. In a parliamentary question addressed to Minister of Rural Development and Food Margaritis Schoinas, Chnaris described the ‘MyAgro’ reform as a failure.
According to the representative, despite government promises for the system to be operational by spring, significant issues persist. Data indicates that for the first deadline, applications submitted did not exceed 2% of total beneficiaries. As of late October, only approximately 100,000 applications have been finalized out of a total of 600,000 eligible beneficiaries, putting the sector at risk of losing essential production support.
