Greece opens recruitment for 600 fire‑brigade officers on 7‑year contracts

From 00:00 UTC on 8 July 2026, applications are being accepted online for 600 positions in the Greek Fire Service. Successful candidates will be hired under public‑law contracts for a seven‑year term.

Eligibility requires Greek citizenship, age 30 or younger by 31 December 2026, at least a secondary‑school diploma and a valid Category G driver’s licence. Additional merit points are awarded for qualifications such as reserve officer service, submarine‑destroyer or parachute‑school training, seasonal firefighting experience, volunteer work, and family status.

Applicants will undergo preliminary examinations that include athletic tests (pull‑ups, 100 m and 1 000 m runs, jumps, weight‑carrying), medical assessments and psychotechnical evaluations.
