Greek govt allocates €14.4 M for green overhaul of Akri, Kozani

Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis approved the inclusion of two projects in the Special Programme for Fair Development Transition of Greece’s 2021‑2025 National Development Plan. The first project provides €14.4 million for the energy‑efficient transformation of the village of Akri in the Kozani region, covering roof‑top photovoltaic installation with up to 8 kW storage, building‑envelope insulation, window replacement, HVAC upgrades, high‑efficiency cogeneration units, upgraded lighting and automation systems, plus consultancy and design services.

The second project funds €400 k for two studies: upgrading the Bouzaki irrigation network to expand irrigated area, and improving/constructing a 10.6‑km stretch of the E35 road that links Akri to the main Kozani‑Thessaloniki corridor. The overall aim is to raise living standards, retain the local population and create a model green settlement.
