Nikos Papathanasis approves €49.98 million early childhood intervention scheme in Greece
Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis signed a call to incorporate the "Early Childhood Intervention" action into the ESFA Human Capital and Social Cohesion 2021‑2027 programme. The measure earmarks €49.98 million of public spending to support children aged 0‑6 with disabilities or developmental delays.
The programme will deliver multidisciplinary, family‑centred services—including diagnostic assessments, speech and occupational therapy, counseling, assistive‑technology training and coordination with other support services—through a voucher system managed by the Hellenic Local Development and Self‑Governance Company (EETAA). It continues a pilot funded by the EU Recovery and Resilience Fund, ensuring long‑term nationwide provision.
