Greek government allocates €80 million to farmers under Ecological Schemes

The Greek Ministry of Rural Development confirmed that €80 million in ecological scheme funds will be paid to agricultural holdings in June. The subsidies cover a range of measures, including €11 per stremma for composting, €3 per stremma for digital tools, and €3 per stremma for low‑dispersion spray nozzles. Additional support includes €4.5 per stremma for specialty nutrition products and €12 per stremma for organic winter cereals. Payments are also earmarked for livestock farmers, with €20 per stremma from the basic increase and €10 per stremma from expanded action 5 for forest‑cover grazing areas. The programme extends to all farms, not only cotton and hard wheat, and applies separate rates for organic cotton and cereals. The total allocation mirrors a similar €80 million set aside for livestock feed subsidies, bringing the overall support to roughly €160 million for the sector.
