Greek government delivers 150‑euro child benefit to nearly 950,000 families

The Ministry of Finance and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue completed the first and largest disbursement of an emergency one‑off cash benefit of €150 per child. The payment reaches 947,609 eligible families covering 1,525,188 dependent children, amounting to €219.7 million. Eligibility is based on tax residency, income thresholds and correct IBAN details; families with joint tax returns receive the full amount, while separate filers receive half per parent.

In a separate programme, the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, together with the Ministry of Finance and the same revenue authority, paid a de minimis aid package to 26,218 livestock producers who were affected by restrictions imposed to contain a sheep‑goat disease outbreak. The total assistance totals €29.5 million and was processed digitally through the myBusinessSupport portal, using data from the Unified Support Application 2025 and the Registry of Farmers.

Both measures aim to cushion household incomes and support primary‑sector producers after the pandemic‑related restrictions.
