Greek Government Disburses €617 million in Agricultural Subsidies
The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) issued an order to pay €617,468,049.80 to 1,142,948 beneficiaries, representing 529,494 unique taxpayers, as part of the June 2026 agricultural support programme. The payment covers basic income support for sustainability, supplemental income for young farmers, plant and livestock production incentives, ecological programmes, island-specific aid, and special cotton cultivation support. Minister of Rural Development and Food Margaritis Schoinas said the disbursement demonstrates the government’s commitment to transparency, strict controls, and full utilisation of EU funds to support genuine producers.
The payment exceeds the original plan for May‑June by about €101 million, bringing total Pillar I payments to €802.4 million, reflecting coordination between the Ministry of Rural Development, the General Secretariat for Union Funds and Infrastructure, and AADE under the Vice‑Presidency’s oversight.
