Greek Labour Minister attends Brussels summit and advances AI labor regulations

Greek Minister of Labour and Social Security Niki Kerameus is set to represent the Greek government at the Trilateral Social Summit in Brussels on October 14, 2026. The summit, themed ‘Driving Europe Forward’, is co-chaired by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa. Participants include Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin and representatives from European employer and worker organizations. The discussions will focus on the new EU Multiannual Financial Framework, enhancing competitiveness, supporting quality jobs, and the functioning of the Single Market.

In parallel, Minister Kerameus is engaging in social dialogue regarding a new bill aimed at regulating the use of artificial intelligence in the labor market. The proposed legislation seeks to set limits on the uncontrolled use of algorithmic and automated AI systems in managing platform workers, ensuring transparency and protecting sensitive personal data. This initiative aligns with European Directive 2024/2831 to improve working conditions and provide safeguards for employees in the digital economy.
