Greek Lifeguard and Volunteer Rescue Two Siblings at Spiantza Beach

Two minors, aged 13 and 15, were swept away by a strong sea current at Spiantza beach in the Elia region of Greece. Lifeguard George Nikolopoulos and EKAB volunteer Christos Kouli, who happened to be nearby, immediately entered the water, battled the waves and brought the children safely back to shore. The siblings were then taken to Pyrgos Hospital for preventive medical checks. Both rescuers stressed that they acted instinctively to protect the children, describing the operation as a duty performed under pressure.
