Greek media companies compete for UEFA broadcasting rights
The landscape of sports broadcasting in Greece is shifting as major media players compete for the rights to UEFA competitions, including the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League. A new strategic alliance between Alter Ego Media, Motor Oil, and ANTENNA has led to the creation of the ANT1+ platform.
Under the initial plan, the platform aimed to launch in September 2027 with a comprehensive package of sports rights, including the Super League and UEFA competitions, managed through the company Percapita. However, the competitive environment has become more complex. The refusal of certain rights, such as those involving PAOK, and the entry of the SKAI Group into rights management and the upcoming launch of Spor FM TV, are expected to increase the costs of securing these major European football tournaments.
