Greek Minister Christos Dimas Announces E65 Highway Northern Section to Open by End July

Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Dimas inspected the 46‑kilometre northern segment of the E65 highway, stretching from the Kalamabaka junction to Grevena on the Egnatia Odos. He said the project is nearly finished, with only minor but critical works remaining, and expects the new road to be handed over to traffic by the end of July.

The section, which includes bridges, tunnels and grade‑separated interchanges to improve access for the Trikala and Grevena regions, completes the final missing link of the E65. The rest of the motorway, from Lamia to Kalamabaka, is already in operation. Construction is funded by the EU Recovery and Resilience Fund with €452 million and aims to provide a modern, high‑capacity corridor linking western Macedonia and Epirus with Central Greece, Thessaly and the rest of the national network.
