Greek ministry allows disabled retirees to join Farmers Registry
The Ministry of Rural Development and Food has issued a circular, signed by General Secretary Spyrós Protopáltes, that restores the right of disabled retirees to register in the Farmers and Agricultural Holdings Registry (MAAE). The measure applies to retirees with a disability level of at least 67 % who continue to carry out agricultural activity and meet the requirements of Law 3874/2010. They may be entered as “professional farmers” or “new professional farmers”. The circular also provides detailed guidance on the documentation needed, the issuance of registration certificates and the digital linkage of the MAAE system with EFKA to verify insurance status in real time. Protopáltes stated that the new rules “give clear instructions to the services and rectify an injustice for disabled retirees who keep working in agriculture”.
