Greek agriculture producer groups 44.7 million euros government funding rural development

The Ministry of Rural Development and Food (ΥΠΑΑΤ) has approved funding for 208 applications to establish agricultural and livestock producer groups. The original public budget for the call was €31,179,560, but strong demand caused the budget to be exceeded, bringing the total public expenditure for the approved actions to €44,770,920.91. To cover the shortfall, a programme‑level over‑commitment of €22 million was authorized, of which €13,591,360.91 has already been utilized.

The intervention allocates annual support as a percentage of the marketable production value of each group: 10 % in the first year, 8 % in the second, 6 % in the third, 4 % in the fourth and 2 % in the fifth year. No single beneficiary can receive more than €100,000 per year, and the support is not tied to specific eligible costs. The programme aims to encourage farmers and livestock producers to collaborate in collective structures, improve their competitiveness in the agri‑food value chain, and boost the resilience and sustainable growth of Greek agriculture.
