Greek Ministry of Education issues degree‑verification guidelines as ASEP finalises hiring tables for 2026 teacher posts

The Greek Ministry of Education has circulated detailed instructions for checking the academic qualifications submitted by candidates for the upcoming ASEP 1st and 2nd Grade 2026 teaching recruitment rounds. The circular specifies the documentation required for domestic degrees, the need for a first‑year enrollment certificate for certain programmes, and the procedure for recognising foreign qualifications through the DOATAP equivalence system. It also outlines the data fields that must be entered in the OΠΣΥΔ system, including specialisation codes for music and other subjects.

At the same time, the Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP) is completing the final selection tables for five recruitment calls covering permanent positions in the public sector. The calls include 37 long‑term contracts for the Thessaloniki Water and Sewerage Company, 450 permanent secondary‑education posts in museums and archaeological sites, 25 contracts for the public broadcaster, and a range of special‑education staff appointments. The final tables are expected to be published shortly and will govern hiring from 1 September 2025 through 31 August 2028.
