Greek Ministry of Education launches online portal for severe‑illness university applicants

The Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports announced a new electronic platform (https://exams-severeillness.it.minedu.gov.gr) that allows candidates classified under the severe‑illness quota (5% of university seats) to view the approval or rejection of their 2026 computerised admission applications and accompanying documents.

Applicants can log in using the same email address and password they provided when submitting their application. If a password is forgotten, it can be recovered through the same portal. The process, which runs from 17 July 2026, bypasses the national examinations for this group and bases admission on submitted credentials and verification of the medical condition by health authorities.

The system also provides a security code for students to obtain at their schools between 17 June and 30 June 2026, ensuring secure access to the portal.
