Greek education system opens 2026‑27 enrollment for vocational schools
The first phase of electronic applications for admission to EPAL (Vocational Lyceum) and Standard EPAL schools for the 2026‑27 academic year has been completed. Allocation results will be posted on the e‑eggrafes platform, with P. EPAL results available 10‑16 July and EPAL results 17‑23 July. No new applications can be submitted, and existing applications cannot be modified or deleted.
Teachers at the PYSPE A' Athens district have protested a sudden decision to merge classes in five primary schools for 2026‑27, citing financial austerity and cuts that would create oversized classes and jeopardise special‑needs education. The district head has postponed discussion of the mergers pending further review.
The DYPA has opened online applications for its Apprenticeship Vocational Schools (EPAS) for 2026‑27. Young people aged 15‑29 with at least a junior high diploma can apply for one of 36 specialties, receiving weekly remuneration of €130 for four‑day or €163 for five‑day apprenticeships. The two‑year program combines classroom instruction with paid on‑the‑job training and includes additional benefits such as housing and meal allowances.
