Greek Ministry speeds multi‑year olive pest‑control material supply

Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food Giannis Andrianos announced that Greece will accelerate the procurement of essential pest‑control materials for olive orchards. The process, normally started in September or October, will begin in July this year under a new multi‑year framework agreement lasting two years with a possible one‑year extension.

The agreement covers a total budget of €38,038,502 plus VAT and aims to ensure timely delivery of the materials to regional units, avoiding delays that could endanger olive production, the quality of Greek olive oil, and farmers' incomes. Andrianos emphasized that the multi‑year planning will prevent the need to restart the procurement process each year, allowing continuous monitoring and coordination to protect the sector.
