In late July 2026 Greek authorities intensified coordinated measures to protect olive orchards from pest infestations. On 3 August a second spraying operation started in the North Aegean, using PROSPERACE SL (acetamiprid) and Success 0.24 CB (spinosad), with the same weather‑related stoppage rules and safety instructions for beekeepers and livestock owners. A parallel schedule was issued for Messinia on 4 August.

The campaign expanded on 6 August when the Zakynthos and Messinia directorates launched eight‑day pesticide operations covering 20 communities in Zakynthos and dozens of villages in Messinia. Growers were again asked to place signage, keep fields clear, protect beehives and livestock, and cooperate with spray crews, with real‑time GPS tracking and scientific oversight throughout.

All phases emphasize coordinated response, environmental safeguards, and the goal of preserving the 2026 olive harvest and the quality of Greek olive oil.
