Greek MP Giannis Plakiotakis Discusses New Hospital Staffing Initiative in Lassithi

Greek Vice‑President of the Parliament and Lassithi MP Giannis Plakiotakis met with the newly appointed president of the Interconnected Hospitals of the Lassithi region, Nikos Kokkinis. Kokkinis was installed by Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis. The meeting reviewed the condition of the region's hospital units and established a plan for regular communication and close cooperation to continuously improve health services for residents and visitors.

The discussion highlighted the results of the Ministry of Health’s largest recruitment call to date for the Lassithi hospitals, seeking to fill 25 medical positions. Interest was expressed for 14 of those posts, and the applications will be examined by the Ministry’s Crisis Council. Plakiotakis said the call demonstrates the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the public health system in the area.
