Greek MP Pavlos Polakis slams former SYRIZA chief and PASOK MEP on Facebook

Member of Parliament Pavlos Polakis (Chania, SYRIZA) used a Facebook post to demand former SYRIZA president Sokratis Famellos apologise, surrender his parliamentary seat and leave the country, writing, “Ask for forgiveness, give up the seat and go home.”

Polakis later targeted PASOK MEP Nikos Farandouris, calling him “a fellow‑traveller and gyrologos” after Farandouris criticised Famellos’ conduct. The posts illustrate a sharp intra‑progressive clash in Greek politics, with Polakis employing unusually harsh language against his political opponents.
