Greek officials address Rafina port plan and Pelion train service expansion

The General Secretary of the Communist Party of Greece, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, met with Rafina‑Pikermi Mayor Dimitra Tseva and local officials to discuss the operation and future design of the town’s port. The mayor highlighted the need for proper planning, infrastructure upgrades and support from higher authorities to protect residents’ daily life.

In a separate meeting, MP Zetta M. Makri and Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Georgios Kotziras responded to a request from the Municipality of Nea Pilion to increase the historic Pelion narrow‑gauge railway’s service days. Kotziras confirmed that Friday service will start on 10 July and pledged to study daily operation during the tourist season, with a possible addition of Monday runs, and will keep the MP informed of any progress.
