The ban continued on 31 July, cancelling all scheduled ferries from those ports, including the Blue Star Paros line to Syros, Tinos and Mykonos, and leaving thousands of passengers queuing at Piraeus. Port‑authority spokesperson Theofanis Balatsoukas warned conditions could change and advised travelers to arrive early and verify sailings.

The ban was lifted at 19:00 on 31 July, allowing vessels to resume from Rafina and Lavrio; some Friday sailings were shifted to Lavrio. A few passenger vessels remained anchored overnight, raising safety concerns for crews. On 1 August, the August tourist surge continued with departure delays at Piraeus and heavy road traffic. The Blue Star Naxos ferry left about 55 minutes late, over 90 % full, while congestion at the Stadio Eirinis kai Filias overpass added 20‑25 minutes to approach times, prompting authorities to again advise travelers to leave home earlier and stay in contact with operators.
