Greek opposition criticizes infrastructure funding and management
Opposition members of PASOK–Movement for Change have raised concerns regarding government management of public infrastructure and funding in Greece.
Rania Thrasia, a Member of Parliament for Thessaloniki, reported that the Thess INTEC scientific and technological park has lost 33 million euros in European Recovery and Resilience Fund resources due to bureaucratic delays and lack of coordination. She stated that the government is now attempting to cover the 30.3 million euro deficit through the National Development Program, shifting the cost to taxpayers.
In Crete, MP Eleni Vatsina criticized the Ministry of Health following an incident where ceiling plaster fell at the 76-year-old Venizelos Hospital. Vatsina called for the Minister to visit the facility to witness the state of public health infrastructure and demanded clarity on when funding for the hospital's necessary renovation will be secured.
