Greek organized‑crime unit carries out raids in Athens and Kefalonia

The Police Directorate for the Combating of Organized Crime, known as the “Greek FBI”, dismantled a criminal network trafficking foreign women in Athens on 17‑18 June 2026. Four suspects were arrested, three foreign women were rescued, and authorities seized crystal methamphetamine, MDMA, ecstasy tablets, liquid ketamine and related equipment.

Two days later, on 21 June 2026, the same unit conducted a targeted operation at a nightlife centre in Argostoli, Kefalonia. Six persons were detained, including the venue’s legal representative, for offenses ranging from defiance and assault to violations of child‑protection alcohol and tobacco laws. One police officer was lightly injured during the raid.
