Greek Panhellenic Exams 2026: Dates, Subjects and Test Center Details

The Greek Ministry of Education announced that the Panhellenic examinations for General Lyceum (GEL) will start on 29 May 2026, with Vocational Lyceum (EPAL) exams beginning on 30 May. Exams run through early June, ending on 8 June for core subjects. All candidates must present their examination ticket and a valid ID and arrive at test centres by 08:00 (or 09:30 for English). Each paper lasts three hours, except the “Free” and “Linear” design subjects, which run six hours.

Special‑subject exams, required for admission to certain university programmes, are scheduled for 16‑25 June 2026 and include foreign languages, music modules and design courses. Foreign‑language papers last three hours; design subjects last six hours. Test‑centre assignments are based on the first letter of the candidate’s surname, with specific schools in Athens and the wider Attica region designated for each alphabetical segment.

The examination ticket will be issued through the myschool system and can be collected from schools starting 21 May. Candidates are urged to verify their assigned centre and bring the required documents on the day of the exam.
