Greek police conduct traffic enforcement in Thessaloniki and Trikala

Police in Greece have conducted several enforcement operations targeting traffic violations and public order. In Thessaloniki, officers arrested three drivers during road safety checks. The arrests included a 22-year-old driving without a valid license, a 52-year-old operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and a 61-year-old caught driving while intoxicated.

In Trikala, the Traffic Department conducted inspections on the Ioulietas Adam pedestrian zone. The operation aimed to restore order to the central commercial area, where bicycles and motorcycles have been frequently entering the pedestrian space, moving among pedestrians, or parking illegally. Authorities noted that while inadequate cycling infrastructure contributes to the issue, the pedestrian zones are strictly intended for foot traffic.
