Greek police dismantle drug ring in Mykonos and burglary gang in Thessaloniki

Greek police carried out a large‑scale operation against a drug‑trafficking network on the island of Mykonos. Officers seized about 4.5 kg of cocaine, pink cocaine, cannabis, pharmaceutical tablets, ketamine and hallucinogenic mushrooms, and confiscated cash estimated at €700,000 in illegal profits. Five members of the group were arrested, including a 37‑year‑old Albanian who had used a tourist‑transport company to move and distribute the narcotics across Mykonos, Piraeus and Perama.

In a separate case, police in Thessaloniki busted a burglary gang that had targeted apartments in the city centre. The gang’s total haul exceeded €585,000 in cash, jewellery, silverware and other valuables. Two foreign suspects, aged 36 and 24, were arrested, while a 39‑year‑old Greek suspect remains at large. Authorities seized more than 250 keys, master keys, burglary tools, a walkie‑talkie and other equipment used in the break‑ins.
