Greek police dismantle drug‑trafficking ring in Agrinio

Police of the Hellenic Police’s Drug Crime Unit carried out a coordinated operation in Agrinio on 22 June, arresting four men – three Greek nationals and one foreigner – on suspicion of forming a criminal organization and trafficking narcotics. The suspects are expected to appear before the public prosecutor of Aetolia‑Acarnania.

During a search of a residence used as a drug‑storage hideout, investigators seized 774 g of cocaine, 653 g of processed cannabis (candy‑type), 327 g of raw cannabis, a rifle, a revolver, two knives, a taser‑style stun‑gun, metal ball bearings, a precision electronic scale with drug residue, and packaging material. An additional 2.2 g of cocaine, €1,150 in cash, a mobile phone and keys were found on one of the arrestees. The group reportedly moved frequently between houses to evade detection.
