Greece conducts major drug seizures in Chios and Attica

Greek authorities have conducted several major drug enforcement operations across different regions, resulting in significant seizures of narcotics.

In Chios, the Hellenic Coast Guard intercepted a Croatian-flagged sailing yacht southwest of the island. Officers seized 360.7 kilograms of raw cannabis, valued at approximately €1.08 million. Two Ukrainian nationals were arrested, and authorities are investigating potential links to migrant smuggling networks.

In Attica, police operations led to the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of over 35 kilograms of cocaine and 312 kilograms of cannabis (including skunk). One investigation in Zephyri resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old man following the discovery of over 7.5 kilograms of heroin and 186 grams of cocaine, with an estimated profit of €150,000.

Additionally, in Makrinitsa, authorities identified and uprooted 79 cannabis plants ranging from 60 centimeters to over two meters in height.
