Greek police dismantle Super 3 fan criminal ring

The Northern Greece Organized Crime Unit carried out a large‑scale raid on 29 June in Thessaloniki, Chalkidiki and Mykonos, targeting members of the Super 3 supporters of Aris football club. Twenty people were arrested, including fifteen alleged core members of the criminal organisation, four accused of aiding or profiting from its activities and one mother charged with neglect of a minor.

The investigation, which began in August 2021, links the group to systematic fan violence, assaults on rival supporters, property damage and the possession and trafficking of illegal drugs inside sporting venues. Authorities seized a semi‑automatic pistol with two magazines, two sub‑machine guns, a shotgun, ten knives, a naval torch, 1.682 kg of cannabis, 41.1 g of heroin, 1.5 g of cocaine, assorted pills, precision scales, two cars and €8,610 in cash. The case dossier now lists 51 individuals facing charges ranging from participation in an organised criminal group to drug‑related offences, weapons violations, robbery, violent assault, property damage, aiding a criminal and neglect of a minor. Police also identified 30 incidents of drug possession and trafficking during eight sports matches and 88 additional trafficking cases in the wider Thessaloniki area.
