Greek police seize 143 cannabis plants in Crete raid
A coordinated police operation in the mountainous municipalities of Rethymno, Anogeia and Mylopotamos on Crete uncovered 17 cannabis farms with a total of 143 plants, some reaching three metres in height. The raid, carried out by the Hellenic Police Drug Unit together with local police forces, resulted in the arrest of a 38‑year‑old man who was linked to a plot cultivating nine plants in a Mylopotamos site.
During the same operation, officers also seized two hunting weapons, a loading device and cleaning equipment, prompting a separate case file for violations of weapons legislation. Evidence collected from the farms is being processed, and investigations continue to identify and apprehend additional participants.
