Greek police seize cocaine, cannabis and ecstasy in nationwide raids

Police operations across Greece during early July resulted in multiple drug‑related arrests and seizures. In Athens, an under‑age trafficker was caught with a small amount of cocaine, 882 g of cannabis, a firearm, a motorcycle and €2,174 in cash. In Veria and the nearby region of Imathia, authorities seized 100 ecstasy tablets and more than 900 g of cannabis, along with additional smaller cannabis packages and a mobile phone.

On the islands, three suspects – two foreigners and one Greek – were arrested on Zakynthos after a coordinated investigation uncovered cocaine packets, a revolver, cash and a motorcycle. Separate targeted checks in the western Macedonian prefectures of Kastoria and Kozani led to five arrests and the confiscation of several grams of raw and processed cannabis, a few ecstasy tablets and a makeshift cannabis cigarette. All detainees have been referred to prosecutors.

These coordinated raids demonstrate a broad crackdown on drug trafficking networks throughout the country.
