Greek Pontic community holds two-day Santi heritage events in Veria
On July 23‑24, 2026, the AMKE “Digital Santa” association organized a two‑day programme in Veria, Greece, to promote the history, tradition and culture of Santi (the historic Pontic settlement of Santa). The first day featured a seminar at the Polycentric Museum of Aigaion, co‑hosted with the Department of Antiquities of Emathia. Speakers included lawyer‑researcher Athanasios Stylidis, university professor K. Fotiaidis, N. Touboulidis, K. Stefandis, journalist‑researcher D. Pipéridis and researcher H. Aïdonidis, who presented topics ranging from oral sources on Santi to the reconstruction of women’s costumes and archival photographs. The following evening, a folk‑dance concert showcasing Pontic dances of Santi was held at the Palatsia of Emathia, with participation from local cultural societies such as the Palatsistion, Berga, Rachi, Small Santi and the Tourist Association of Kastania.
