Greek power grid operator DEDDIE schedules electricity outages in Athens and Thessaloniki

The Public Power Corporation (DEDDIE) announced scheduled electricity outages for Sunday, 31 May 2026, to allow maintenance work on the power network. In the Athens area, outages affect multiple districts of Attica, including the western suburbs, Piraeus, Galatsi, and central neighborhoods, with times ranging from early morning until late afternoon depending on the zone.

In Thessaloniki, a separate outage is planned for the Polichni district of the Pavlos Melas municipality, with power expected to be restored by 11:00 a.m. after work on the grid. Residents are advised to avoid using elevators and to disconnect appliances until service resumes.

Both notices emphasize caution during the cuts and note that the restoration may occur earlier if the work finishes ahead of schedule.
