Greek power grid operator DEH schedules widespread electricity outages

The Public Power Corporation (ΔΕΔΔΗΕ) has announced planned electricity shutdowns as part of maintenance work on its transmission network. On Saturday 27 June 2026, the utility will cut power in multiple neighbourhoods of the Attica region, including central Athens, southern suburbs, and northern districts such as Chaidari, Marousi, Kifissia, and Piraeus, with outage windows ranging from early morning until late afternoon.

The following day, Sunday 28 June 2026, similar scheduled outages will affect parts of the Thessaloniki area and the municipalities of Delta, Kordelio‑Evosmos and Lagkada in the Kavala regional unit. Interruptions are set to begin between 08:00 and 10:00 and may last up to four hours depending on the specific work zone.

DEH advises residents to take precautions during the blackouts, including avoiding the use of elevators, disconnecting electrical appliances, and exercising heightened care while the supply is restored.
