Greek price‑comparison app PosoKanei set to launch next week

The Development Ministry announced that the new consumer‑price platform PosoKanei will go live next week, replacing the older e‑katanalotis service. The application will let shoppers view real‑time prices of individual products or baskets across Greek supermarket chains and compare them with prices in other European countries.

Oversight will be provided by the Independent Market Supervision Authority, which is also receiving a €4.6 million programme to strengthen digital monitoring tools, including AI for detecting unfair pricing and imposing fines. A contract worth €9,300 (+ VAT) has been awarded to CIRCANA HELLAS for the data‑collection base covering the top 10,000 SKUs. The government says the platform aims to increase market transparency, curb price gouging and support households facing rising costs.
