Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis launches PosoKanei price‑comparison platform
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis unveiled the government‑run "PosoKanei" platform, describing it as a tool to fight price inaccuracy and rising living costs. The service, developed by the Ministries of Development and Digital Governance, lets consumers compare real‑time prices for roughly 8,000 items across major Greek supermarket chains such as Galaxias, Sklavenitis, AB Vasilopoulos, and Lidl.
The platform also shows price levels in selected EU markets – Italy, France, Belgium, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Spain – allowing shoppers to see how Greek prices stack up against foreign equivalents. Users can access PosoKanei via the website posokanei.gov.gr or through Android and iOS apps, create up to five product lists, view price histories, and calculate total costs for chosen items. Ministers Takis Theodorikakos, Dimitris Papastergiou and consumer‑protection official Despina Tsaggari attended the launch, emphasizing the aim of giving Greek households a practical “weapon” against inflated prices.
