Greek Public Employment Service launches new subsidised job schemes for 10,500 unemployed graduates and seniors

The Greek Public Employment Service (ΔΥΠΑ) announced three subsidised employment programmes that together will create 10,500 full‑time positions.

A first scheme for 1,500 job‑seekers aged 57 and over will place them in public‑health facilities. Contracts are funded at up to 75 % of the wage bill, with a monthly ceiling of €750 and a duration of 18 months.

A second scheme targets 1,000 unemployed university or technical‑college graduates aged 25‑54. Gross monthly salaries are set at €1,250 for university graduates and €1,200 for technical graduates. The programme is funded with a €36 million budget, offers contracts of up to two years (initially 12 months) and selects candidates through a points‑based system that weighs length of unemployment, family circumstances and professional experience.

The third scheme provides 8,000 positions for unemployed persons over 55 as a bridge to pension entitlement. Beneficiaries will receive a gross monthly wage of €920, full social and health insurance, and will be employed by public or local‑government bodies.

All three programmes require registration in the Digital Registry of Unemployed Persons and a completed Digital Individual Action Plan.
