Greek Regions Secure €4.5 Million for Preschool and Energy Upgrades

The Peloponnese Region approved a €4,115,508 grant from the EU Social Fund+ under the 2021‑2027 Peloponnese Programme to support the Child Guarantee. The funding will provide vouchers for 7,667 eligible families, covering places in nurseries, kindergartens and creative‑activity centres for children, adolescents and people with disabilities, benefiting a total of 8,976 children.

In the municipality of Penteli, the local council obtained €421,738 for the “Energo gia ton Dimo” project, part of the Attica 2021‑2027 programme. The money will finance energy‑efficient upgrades of the second kindergarten and second daycare centre, including new heating and cooling systems, LED lighting, roof insulation, solar water‑heating collectors and mechanical ventilation. The municipality will cover the remaining €52,600.
