Greek retailers launch summer sales 2026 on July 13

The 2026 Greek summer sales period will begin on Monday, 13 July, and run until 31 August, giving shoppers nearly seven weeks of reduced‑price offers on clothing, footwear, appliances and other consumer goods.

Retailers may optionally open on the first Sunday of the sales, 19 July, between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm. They are required to clearly display both the original and the discounted price of each product. The original price is defined as the lowest price the item sold for in the preceding 30 days (or 10 days if the product has been on the market for less than a month). When a discount percentage is shown, it must accurately reflect the price reduction. If more than 60 % of a store’s merchandise is on sale, the discount rate must be posted on the shop window, with ranges such as “15 %–45 %” if different categories have different rates.

Consumer organisations advise shoppers to distinguish between “discounts” – usually applied to current‑season items – and “offers”, which often involve older stock and deeper cuts. They also recommend checking each retailer’s return and price‑change policies before purchasing during the sales period.
