Greek retailers start 2026 summer sales on July 13

Greece's summer sales for 2026 will begin on the second Monday of July, 13 July, and run until 31 August. Retailers may optionally open on the first Sunday of the sales period, 19 July, between 11:00 and 18:00.

The sales are governed by specific pricing rules: stores must clearly display both the original and reduced prices, using the lowest price recorded in the past 30 days (or past 10 days for newer items). Display of discount percentages is optional, but if the discount applies to over 60 % of a store’s merchandise, the percentage must be shown in the window. Outlets and stock stores must remove the old price and show only the new reduced price.

Consumer advisers warn shoppers to differentiate between "discounts" (current‑season items at reduced prices for a limited time) and "offers" (older stock or promotional deals). They also recommend checking return policies, as some discounted goods may not be eligible for returns or exchanges.
