Greek students participate in nationwide CPR awareness campaign
Students across Greece participated in a massive nationwide initiative organized by the humanitarian organization ‘Kids Save Lives’ to mark World Restart a Heart Day 2026. The campaign aimed to raise awareness about the importance of immediate assistance during cardiac arrest.
As part of the effort to break a panhellenic record for simultaneous Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), 77,195 students from 1,227 schools across the country performed CPR for two minutes. Local schools, including those in Kleitoria and Perdikas, engaged in experiential learning where students used everyday items like stuffed animals and water bottles to practice chest compressions and life-saving techniques.
The initiative, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, focused on teaching children basic first aid skills and the importance of teamwork in emergency situations.
