Greek humanitarian and educational initiatives

Overview

In early October 2026, Greece held ceremonies to recognize achievement and service. In Trikala, the Hellenic Mathematical Society honored students for excellence in mathematics competitions. Simultaneously, in Drama, the Hellenic Red Cross honored new volunteers for completing training across various sectors of humanitarian action.

Later in the month, a nationwide campaign organized by ‘Kids Save Lives’ engaged students across the country to mark World Restart a Heart Day. Approximately 77,195 students from 1,227 schools participated in an effort to set a panhellenic record for simultaneous Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), focusing on teaching basic first aid and life-saving techniques.
