Greek Summer Festivals Showcase Documentary, Music and Theater Programs

The Grammos Festival in northern Greece continues through July 15‑20 with a mixed program of documentary screenings, theatrical performances and a free children’s concert. Highlights include "Dear Future" by filmmaker Christiana Heiranagnostaki, the film "Exile(S) – Stories of an Island" about Imbros, and a shadow‑theatre piece by Agapios Agapios.

The Festival in the Shadow of the Rocks runs July 13‑27, offering a summer concert series headlined by APON with its new album "Ηχογένεια" and a stage production of Euripides' "Bacchae" directed by Javor Gardev. The performance brings together the National Theatre of Bulgaria, the State Theatre of Northern Greece and the British group The Tiger Lillies, presenting a contemporary take on the classic tragedy.
