Greek Summer Sales 2026 Begin July 13 with New Pricing Rules

Greece’s summer sales for 2026 will run from the second Monday of July (13 July) through 31 August. Retailers may optionally open on the first Sunday of the period, 19 July, between 11:00 and 18:00.

The law requires clear price disclosure: stores must show both the previous price and the reduced price. The reference price is the lowest price applied during the 30 days before the sale, or for items sold less than a month, the lowest price of the previous 10 days. Display of a discount percentage (e.g., “‑30 %”) is mandatory only when discounts cover more than 60 % of a shop’s items, and ranges must be shown when different categories have different percentages.

Outlet and stock‑type stores have a special regime: they must remove the old price and present only the new reduced price. Consumer groups advise shoppers to verify genuine discounts versus standard promotions and to check return policies that may differ for sale items.
