Greek summer theater tours launch new productions in Ioannina and Thessaly
The Municipal Theatre of Ioannina will open its 2026 summer season on 20 July with a Greek adaptation of Shakespeare’s *Romeo and Juliet, a Summer Night* at the Ancient Theatre of Dodoni. The production, translated by Dionysis Kapsalis and directed by Renio Kyriazis, features a cast that includes Kika Zaharadiou, Stelios Theodorou and others, with music by Nikos Veliotis and design by Christos Kollias.
Meanwhile, the Theatre of Arts of Larissa begins its regional tour of the French comedy *The Pseudo‑Maid* (by Marivaux) on 11 July at the Summer Theatre of Amblakion, offering free admission in cooperation with the Municipality of Tempi. Subsequent performances are scheduled for 18 July in Aigani, 25 July in Krania, 1 August in Velika and 9 August in Megalobryso, all in collaboration with local cultural groups. Direction, set design and music are handled by Christos Dimitriadis, with costumes by Stella Tsatsiou and photography by Fotis Nachsioulis.
