Theatre Alseos extends Greek summer season with two new productions

The musical comedy "Tou Agoriou Apefanti" by Michalis Repas and Thanasis Papathanasiou will run from 28 August to 3 October at the open‑air Alseos Theatre (ΔΕΗ) in Greece, featuring a 70‑person ensemble, live orchestra and 3D video scenery. The show follows a 1965‑style love story on a Aegean island and has attracted thousands of spectators.

Molière’s classic "Le Malade Imaginaire" ("The Imaginary Invalid") also returns to the Alseos stage this summer in a new adaptation by Repas and Papathanasiou. The production stars Vlamís Kyria‑kídis as Argan and includes an established Greek cast such as Sofia Vogiatzáki, Panos Stathakopoulos and Ioannis Apergis. The revival aims to deliver the playwright’s timeless satire with fresh staging, colourful costumes and contemporary lighting.

Both performances are part of the theatre’s extended summer programme, showcasing Greek reinterpretations of classic and contemporary works for local audiences.
