Greek municipalities launch summer cultural programmes for 2026

The municipal council of Ierapetra opened its "Kyrvea 2026" cultural programme with a concert by popular singer Paschalis, attended by mayor Emmanuel Frangoulis and a large crowd at Minos Park.

In the region of Pydna, the 10th Pydneia 26 Festival of Culture and Tradition featured a free‑entry outdoor exhibition of 37 photographers, literary readings and live music, under the theme "Words on the Sea".

Florina’s "Cultural Summer 2026" began with the dance show "Rhythms of the World", bringing together Greek, Mexican and Australian Greek‑diaspora dance groups, alongside a beach‑volleyball tournament and the 9th Meliti Beer Festival.

At the Ancient Theatre of Plevrona in Mesologgi, the theatrical performance "The Prayer of the Sea" was staged on 28‑29 July, directed by Aikaterini Papageorgiou and incorporating recorded testimonies of refugees and migrants in their native languages.
