Greek towns unveil 2026 summer cultural festival line‑ups
The 55th Olympus Festival in Pieria is scheduled for 4 July – 8 September 2026. The program includes theatrical performances of ancient and modern repertoire, concerts by notable artists, visual‑art exhibitions, archaeological activities, gastronomic events, workshops and scientific meetings at venues such as the Ancient Theatre of Dion, the Castle of Platamonas, the Centre of Mediterranean Mosaics and the Byzantine church of Panagia Kontariotissa.
Rethymno’s municipal culture department has also announced a summer cultural programme for 2026. From 9 to 20 July events will be held at the Forteza Fortress and other local sites, featuring theatre productions like “Nikos Xylouris – Archangel of Crete”, “Erofili”, “The Porcupine” and children’s shows, as well as concerts by Alkistis Protopsalti, George Samponas, Sofia Malama and others. The schedule aims to attract residents and visitors with a varied and high‑quality cultural offering.
